Entremission equips organizations with the technology and strategic communications capacity they need to build a thriving, sustainable society.
Entremission’s founders have decades of experience in the environmental nonprofit and technology sectors. We launched our company in Montréal in 2021 to offer our unique blend of expertise, dedication, and integrity to environmental and social impact projects across Canada.
We really love what we do.
Entremission provides three services: digital adoption, strategy and communications, and impact management. These activities are the foundation for every successful campaign and program, but they can be unwieldy for organizations without in-house expertise, limited resources, and urgent work to do.
We tailor our approach to suit our clients’ needs, meaning that we can run with a defined project, provide ongoing support to your team, or coach leaders and emerging leaders as they grow.
Our expertise in both social impact leadership and digital technology development makes Entremission unique. We know what we’re talking about, but we’re also incredibly practical and have an uncanny ability to intuit your needs.
We know what it takes to run projects that create social and environmental change, including how to set the right goals, make the most of limited budgets, and operate with integrity. We know how to deploy digital technologies that people want to use and that help organizations save precious resources, like time and money.
Plus, we bring an unwavering sense of purpose, commitment to success, and integrity to every project.
The Entremission team has done some great work:
Entremission serves the next generation of social and environmental changemakers, from nonprofit leaders to entrepreneurs.
We love helping people who are new to leadership or mission-driven work, people trying to create new social change strategies, and people adapting tried-and-true approaches to the 21st Century.
We work with all types of organizations, including charities, nonprofits, social enterprises, and volunteer community groups. Our tools are generally designed for small and medium-sized social impact organizations and government-funded initiatives focused on building equitable, sustainable communities.
If your organization is trying to marry your strategy with your tools, build communications infrastructure, reach an audience to achieve a public interest goal, or learn from your past efforts, then we’re probably a good fit for you.
Entremission is led by Krystyn Tully, CEO and co-founder. She’s a social change advocate, writer, policy and tech enthusiast who leads the client relationships and oversees our strategy and comms projects. If you reach out to Entremission, there’s a very good chance that Krystyn is the person you’ll hear from next. Our CTO and co-founder, a talented developer, leads the technical projects.
The core team are supported by a variety of super-talented humans, all based in Canada and all committed to social impact values. Depending on your specific project needs, you may be supported by a designer, an additional web developer, a data specialist, a copyeditor, and/or a digital marketing specialist.
“Entremission” is a great name. In one bilingual portmanteau, we crafted a word that describes exactly what we do and why we do it. It’s who we are in four elegant syllables.
First, there is the word “mission”. In both English and French, it means an important calling or journey. It’s also a nod to our clients; you represent organizations and projects that are “mission-driven”. You have missions and mission statements and a sense of purpose; this shared ambition defines you and the work we all love to do.
Then there is the word “entre”, which is French for “between two things”. This is where French and English differ. In English, you think of “between” as an empty space—an intermission is the time between acts in a performance, for example. But in French, “between” is more like “among”, and it is very much not an empty space. “Entre” is the part where all of the important work and experience and living happens. It’s the part that epic stories get written about. The middle part is the good part.
For us, effective, rewarding, inspiring social impact work is about more than just a mission. It’s not that hard to dream of world peace or clean air. The hard part — the part that is most powerful — is the part where you do the work to bring those dreams to life. You can dream up a better future in a mere second, but it takes years or even generations to make that dream real. We are here for those years of effort.
We started Entremission because we wanted to create a company that would support organizations through the hard, finicky, unglamorous parts of mission-driven work. Someone needs to keep tabs on technology options, data organization, impact measures, and progress. Someone needs to be an expert in answering the question, “sure, but how?” That’s us.
You know where you’re starting. You know where you’re trying to go. We’re here to be alongside during the journey, especially when the nitty-gritty day-to-day details threaten to throw you off course.
Think of “entre” like “under” in English words like “undertaking” and “underway”. The action is happening now. Things are in flight. Our clients may have different causes, but each one is doing the hard work to build a society where people can truly thrive. It’s an environment that demands perseverance and courage, and it’s filled with inspiring people doing good work. This is exactly where we love to be.
